Pastor. Teacher.
Bible reader. Dad.
Writing about faith, family, and the hard things in between.
10+ years pastoral experience | Master of Divinity10+ years Teaching Chemistry, biology and math | Master of Science in EducationI spend most of my time at home, school and church. All three remind me that the world is complicated, and that God is more faithful.
I'm a science teacher by trade and a pastor by calling. I'm also a husband and a dad taking care of home.
Those three things probably show up in everything I write. The lab teaches me to ask hard questions without flinching. The Bible teaches me that truth isn't just meant to be known; it's meant to be lived. My home teaches me that most of life happens in the ordinary moments, and God is present in all of them.
I want this to be a place to sit with the questions that don't have immediate answers, to trace the Bible's themes slowly, and to write to the person who's barely holding on.
I'm not interested in faith that paper-covers the hard things. I believe the scriptures are honest about suffering, honest about doubt, and honest about the distance we sometimes feel from God. I also believe they're full of a hope that doesn't crumble under that weight or depend on feeling it.
That's what I'm after. And if you're reading this, I suspect you might be too.
